New 8.04 Update Hits Valorant: What Are the Changes?
Riot Games’ tactical shooter game, Valorant, is launching Act 2 of Episode 8, introducing various Premier updates with its 8.04 patch. This update marks the beginning of the next phase and addresses several issues, including a bug with KAY/O’s ZERO/Point (E) ability that sometimes provided incorrect information.
Riot has announced the start of a new Premier phase, allowing players to form teams and begin playing at any point during the phase without prior registration. Teams will be assigned a provisional tier as soon as they are formed. Furthermore, teams can change their segment at any time before entering their first match of the phase.
Valorant 8.04 Patch Notes Released
With the implementation of rematch protection in weekly matches, players won’t face the same team twice during the phase unless they experience unusually long queue times. As players can only participate in two matches per week, switching teams to enter more matches will not be possible. Additionally, playoff outcomes will be displayed in the rankings once the playoffs start and will be locked 48 hours after they conclude.
The 8.04 patch fixes several bugs, including the issue with KAY/O’s ZERO/Point (E) ability sometimes providing incorrect information. Sage has also received two bug fixes: one addressing a sliding issue at the end of the Resurrection (X) ability’s animation and another preventing bullets from passing through the corners of the Barrier Orb (C).
Beyond agent fixes, an error preventing the Esports Center’s Schedule tab from directly displaying the current day has been resolved. Gameplay names have also been corrected, addressing issues with abilities like Killjoy’s Lockdown (X) that extended beyond the mini-map’s boundaries.
