How to Delete Valorant? Step-by-Step Guide to Uninstalling the Game
Riot Games’ Valorant continues to dominate the gaming and esports scene
Developed and published by Riot Games, Valorant has remained a dominant force in both gaming and esports since its initial release in 2020. The shooter has become a global phenomenon, with people from all over the world competing against each other. However, as with many competitive online games, players can sometimes experience a toxic environment.
Maintaining your mental health is crucial in a game that can make or break your day depending on your interactions with other players. Valorant, especially its competitive mode, may not be for everyone. To be consistently successful, you need to keep honing your skills, improving in matches and climbing the ranks. However, even if you are performing well, there will be days when your teammates are not at their best, and this could cost you the match.
How do I uninstall Valorant?
Whether due to a toxic environment, loss of interest, or simply a need to reclaim time, you may decide to uninstall Valorant from your computer. Unlike uninstalling typical programs, removing Valorant requires a few extra steps. Here’s how to do it:
- Disable Vanguard Anti-Cheat Software
First, you will need to disable Vanguard, Riot Games’ anti-cheat system. Locate the Vanguard icon by clicking on the up arrow on the right side of your taskbar, right-click on the icon and select ‘Exit’. A confirmation message will appear asking if you want to shut down Vanguard. Click ‘Yes’. - Uninstall Vanguard and Valorant
Once Vanguard is deactivated, you can proceed to uninstall both the anti-cheat software and Valorant. Press the Windows key or click the Windows icon on your taskbar, then type ‘add or remove programs’ in the search bar and press Enter. Find Riot Vanguard in the list, right-click on it and select ‘Uninstall’.
Finally, use the same method to uninstall Valorant. After fully removing the game, you may also choose to uninstall the Riot client. That’s how simple it is to remove Valorant. Should you decide to return to the shooter, you can easily reinstall it through Riot’s official website, the Riot client if it wasn’t removed, or via the Epic Games Store.
