New FPS Game Spectre Divide’s Release Date Announced to Rival Valorant

September 25, 2024

Mountaintop Studios, made up of veterans of games such as Apex Legends, Call of Duty, Counter-Strike, Overwatch and Valorant, officially announced their new tactical FPS, Spectre Divide, at the beginning of August. The game, with its unique concept, aims to compete with giants such as CS2 and Valorant, and makes a strong impression with its innovative approach.

Spectre Divide has undergone various media previews and a closed beta, and is now firmly set for its Early Access release date. Expected to bring a breath of fresh air to the increasingly competitive FPS genre, the game will soon be available to PC gamers for free on Steam.

Spectre Divide opens for Early Access on 3 September
After a lengthy development process, Mountaintop Studios is ready to launch its first project, announcing that Spectre Divide will enter Early Access on Tuesday 3rd September. Although a 3v3 first-person shooter, Spectre Divide’s unique “duality” mechanic offers a 6v6 gameplay experience. This feature allows players to control two bodies, adding a strategic layer to the gameplay.

Known as the “Spectre”, the character you’re not currently controlling can be moved with a disc that allows it to be placed next to you, behind enemy lines, in hidden corners or only accessible vantage points. This mechanic brings an innovative twist to positioning and tactical planning in shooter games.

Spectre Divide will be released as a free-to-play title on Steam on 3 September, offering an exciting new option for fans of tactical shooters looking for something different.
